Scope of duties

Our client is an international logistics service provider with offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the UK and Poland. The company provides mass and climate-controlled transport solutions for the food and grocery sector throughout Europe. Due to dynamic growth, our client is looking for an effective transport sales person. This is a new position in the structure of Poland with a very high growth potential. Our client is interested in candidates who want to proactively co-create service standards for the Polish market and work closely with the Netherlands Management and a team of other Sales Managers in other European countries - passionate about the food transportation industry. Therefore, we are looking for a person who has a keen interest in the agri-food industry and would like to join the team of experts in this area.

Business Development Manager / Sales Manager (TSL)

Job description:
  • active advisory sales, negotiation of cooperation terms and servicing of B2B clients from the sector of medium and large production and distribution companies from the agricultural and food industry mainly in Poland, and in the future possibly acquisition on the Czech and Hungarian markets
  • co-development and implementation of a country-wide sales strategy for logistics services
  • creation of new business activities for the division in Poland
  • negotiations, preparation of offers and presentations, and meetings with potential customers in the field
  • caring for a positive image of the company, building lasting relationships based on sound advice, and developing business contacts with customers
  •  cooperating with the operations department and participating in the introduction of new customers
  •  properly documenting ongoing customer relations in the CRM system
  •  reporting on current commercial activities
  •  researching and monitoring of the market and competitors' activities
  •  active participation in the setting of transport prices

Candidate profile:
  • min. 5 years of experience in active customer acquisition for the TSL industry (preferably in refrigerated transport)
  • higher education
  • good command of English (at a level where you can communicate freely)
  • ability to conduct active prospecting and handle leads
  • well-developed negotiating and sales closing skills
  • very good organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • knowledge of the food, agricultural or agri-logistics industry would be an advantage
  • Cat B driving licence and willingness to travel on business
