Scope of duties

For our client, an international manufacturer of building materials, we are looking for a proactive business partner who is an expert in processing and analysing financial data and who enjoys working in a dynamic business environment.

Finance Business Partner / Financial Controller

The person in this position will report to the Head of Division Finance BP located outside Poland and to the Country Manager located in Poland.  This key person will act as an advisor, a trusted consultant and facilitator of productive business discussions. She/He should have a forward-looking view to ensure full execution of the current plans to improve the performance of the country, anticipate additional measures needed to offset any slowdown in the performance, rather than explaining the past performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing market date, benchmarking product/ brand performance and suggesting actions to maximise opportunity/minimise los
  • Challenging and monitoring other functions (Operations, Purchasing & Supply) performance plan delivery
  • Optimisation of Overhead costs – managed by the Country - and continuous improvement in quality standard and delivery of all support functions to support business
  • Conducting financial reporting cycle and forecast processes for the Company
  • Managing and preparing the periodic (monthly / quarterly) Financial performance reporting to local management and Business review presentation to Division and Group
  • Work with local management to identify growth segments and translate long-term initiatives into viable plans to create value for the business, formulate strategy, participate in Due Diligence and integration of acquired businesses, owning NPV calculation of the project
  • Acting as the Company's dedicated financial representative to the Board of Directors, Staff Council, other employee representative bodies and external stakeholders
  • Involvement in key banking operations and financial commitments
  • Assisting and supporting on all tax, internal controls and credit management matters
  • Leading all financial aspects of all key legal matters and issues and significant local contracts (excluding employment contracts)
  • Providing coaching, mentoring and training to direct reports (2 analytics) to become supportive of the operational tasks of the position
  • Supporting and facilitating interaction and fruitful collaboration with other finance functions and teams, within company and SSC

Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 - 8 years of work experience as a Financial Controller in an international production company or as an Auditor in consulting company
  • IFRS and other local GAAP, ACCA
  • Relevant university degree
  • Fluent English and Polish
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills towards a variety stakeholders
  • Strong customer service focus, pragmatic and result driven
  • Innovative approach to continuous improvement – ability to drive change
  • Collaborative team spirit amongst different cultures
